Port of Benicia Named Toyota's Third West Coast Port of Entry

TORRANCE, Calif. - Toyota Logistics Services (TLS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc., today announced plans to import and process select Toyota vehicles through Benicia by the fall of 2006.

Earmarked for distribution throughout Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas and parts of California, these vehicles are presently imported through the Port of Long Beach, where Toyota's rail-yard lease expires at the end of 2006. Toyota also maintains a west coast facility at the Port of Portland.

Portside vehicle processing at Toyota's 34-acre, 25,000-square-foot facility will be handled by Amports, Inc., a 40-year veteran of vehicle processing.

"We look forward to working with the Port of Benicia," said Alan DeCarr, group vice president for TLS and international operations. "The new arrangement enables us to continue to efficiently support our vehicle distribution demands."
