Honda Introduces The All-New HHT25S LTA Trimmer

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Honda Power Equipment will introduce the all-new HHT25S LTA four-stroke trimmer aimed at the commercial, rental, and premium residential markets, the company announced. The new 360 degree inclinable trimmer promises to be the lightest and quietest of its kind with a weight reduction of 2.58 pounds and a noise reduction of 2.1 decibels over the UMK422 that it replaces.

Designed, developed, and assembled in the United States, the HHT25S LTA will be available through Honda Power Equipment dealers and numerous rental outlets nationwide by January 2003, without any price increase over the UMK422.

"This new trimmer was designed to bridge the weight gap between Honda and the two-stroke competition," said Steve Bailey, Honda Power Equipment assistant vice president. "With our new technology, four-stroke trimmers are ready for prime time."

Lower noise, weight, and vibration result in a significant reduction in operator fatigue. This has been achieved primarily by the use of Honda's new GX25 mini four-stroke engine, the lightest and most compact of its kind in the world.

Advanced engine technology allows the HHT25S LTA to be continuously operated and stored in any position, and its use of mechanical decompression results in a 40 percent reduction in the effort required for starting for class-leading performance. A lightened flywheel works with a new accelerator pump-equipped carburetor to achieve rapid acceleration on par with that of a two-stroke trimmer.

Balance and maneuverability have been greatly improved by optimizing the engine's center of gravity, and by relocating the throttle assembly and loop handle. The HHT25S LTA's full-cover engine design reduces snagging on branches or other objects during operation, but can be easily removed with a single bolt for ease of maintenance.

Honda's unique and stronger new Flex Shaft system uses advanced materials for reduced weight. Compared to conventional solid shaft systems, its ability to absorb shock greatly increases durability, and further reduces operator fatigue.

Other features include:

  • New deflector shape for increased operator visibility
  • Convenient semi-matic bump feed head.
  • Standard Quiet Line for substantially reduced "zinging" noise
  • Standard safety goggles

In keeping with Honda's tradition of technological and environmental leadership, the HHT25S LTA is the most fuel-efficient gas powered trimmer in its class, also consuming less oil than any of the competition. The four-stroke technology at the heart of Honda's reputation for durability, quality, and reliability means gas and oil never need to be mixed, minimizing the opportunity for operator error, and greatly reducing emissions. The HHT25S LTA's Honda e-SPEC engine achieves top-class ranking in EPA Phase 2 regulations and stringent CARB Tier II regulations.
